Hill Brook's Chihuahuas is located in northeast Tennessee, in the most beautiful part of the United States.
Situated near the Virginia border in the gorgeous mountains of Tennessee, HillBrook's Chihuahuas enjoy the wonderful rolling hills and wonderful down home folks. We've truly never met a stranger here!
OUR ETHICS:
We adhere to the AKC and Chihuahua Club of America Code of Ethics listed below. We pledge:
--To uphold the AKC rules applying to Dog Shows and Registration, particularly in regard to the maintenance of complete and accurate breeding records.
--To accept and uphold the Standard of the Chihuahua as developed by the Chihuahua Club of America and approved by the AKC.
--To maintain or improve qualities of the Chihuahua breed asset forth in the standard, and not for personal gain. We will never knowingly sell puppies to wholesalers, laboratories or to pet stores and will encourage puppy buyers to behave similarly.
--To serve as examples of good sportsmanship in every aspect of the sport of dog ownership and to assist and befriend newcomers and novices to the best of our ability.
--To keep ourselves informed in the areas of dog health and genetics and to carefully screen all breeding stock for hereditary faults or disqualifying defects, removing any questionable animals from my breeding program.
--To conduct all of our breeding practices in a clear, honorable and open fashion and use written agreements or contracts whenever possible.
OUR STANDARDS
We will never knowingly allow the purchase/adoption of one of our puppies or adults without full disclosure to the prospective owner of any problems or potential problems with the animal. Although we inocculate our own animals with their first series of "Puppy Shots" they are normally vet checked for general health and well being.
We also adhere to our own desensitizing program for each of our puppies before they venture out to their new homes. Each puppy is handled, loved and cuddled throughout the day. During this one-on-one time, we gently tug their tails and pull on their ears, play with their paws and look in their mouths and of course, endless cuddling. This helps to prepare them to willingly accept all the normal grooming activities they'll go through in their lives without balking or challenging their new owners or your vet.
We will not ever knowingly allow the purchase/adoption of one of our puppies or adults to a puppy broker, reseller or pet shop.
